PT. BERAU COAL awarded ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

PT. BERAU COAL was awarded ISO 14001 certification in Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Certification in Occupational Heath and Safety Management System (OHSAS) from Bereau Veritas Certification, a leading global business assurance company.

Implementing ISO 14001 required PT Berau Coal to identify aspects of its operations; i.e facilities, exploration and exploitation that give impact to the environment, and also develop appropriate management controls to minimize or mitigate it.

And, by OHSAS 18001 have to implement proactive structured process to ensure by PT Berau Coal to create a proactive structured process and ensure that all potential hazards are minimized and considered and mitigated health and safety risks.

The awards was received by Bob Kamandanu, President Director PT Berau Coal, in a ceremony at PT Berau Coal office , Menara Karya, Jl. HR. Rasuna Said Jakarta, on April 8, 2008 attended  by the management and employees, the former of president directors  and also the mining contractors.
